Who is Angélica?

I am a Colombian-American theatre creator. Trained as an actor at Fordham University, in 2020 I expanded my love for theatre and found intense passion for playwriting. Since then I have been writing and acting with fervor. I love to collaborate with other theatre creators who will join me in my mission of bringing diverse stories to the public— shining light on hidden memories.

My first play Saguaros was workshopped at JACK as a part of their JACK Labs Series in 2022. The following year I used my IRT 3B Residency to mount a staged reading of a new play, An Ode to Ben Okri. Solo performance pieces include Desert of Eden and América, la Cola, which are written in English and Spanish respectively. More information about my writing can be found on the writing page.

Lastly, I am a grateful recipient of the Denzel Washington Scholarship. I am honored to represent the same values of Truthfulness, Transparency, and Thoughtfulness in my work as an artist.

“Don’t aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference.”
